Known as being a kind, loving young man, Jonathon's love for music started at an early age. He attended a specialized school for the arts called Kohl Elementary where he fell in love with the cello. He continued on with the cello adding the violin and piano during his time at Stagg High School.
Upon graduating from Stagg he continued to pursue music at the University of the Pacific where he explored majors in Music Education, Performance, and Business.
In addition to his talent on the many instruments named above, Jon composed, produced, and performed his own music. He collaborated with many musicians in the Stockton and Bay area, performing regularly with the artist known as JoDavi live and in recording sessions.
In the spring of 2021, Jon and Darcy Ford-James founded Stockton Soul and produced a music video project featuring "A Change is Gonna Come," with Jon on lead vocals and a full symphony orchestra in the background. During the fall of 2021, Jon and Darcy selected musicians for a smaller ensemble to reach a wider audience and began rehearsing. Jon passed away in September 2021 due to suicidal depression.
While Jonathon has left a void with his untimely passing, his spirit lives on in the many projects and concerts that Stockton Soul has been a part of since his departure. His legacy will continue.
